About The Work
This piece is turned and carved from a single piece of burl wood. The idea has been in my head for a number of years, waiting patiently while I was busy being “captured by vessel forms.” Finally it was time to make this shallow bowl form, literally captured by, and suspended by huge, fanciful feathers. Originally intended to be viewed flat on a horizontal surface, the addition of a stand allows for the option of an upright sculptural presentation.
