About The Work
When I was in Queensland, Australia teaching I hiked in the rainforest and was struck by the raucous calls of the parrots as they carried on up in the canopy, and by their spectacular color combinations streaking across the sky. At a tourist attraction I was able to feed parrots by hand, and was dazzled by the Crimson Rosella’s feathers in the sun. Exploring new palettes of color, I borrowed the Rosella’s colors, beady eye and all!
