About The Work
I enjoy retracing steps and revisiting favorite themes and ideas, incorporating and combining what I have discovered since last approach. These metamorphic “spirits” are one of those themes. This work pushes both scale and material well beyond expectation. Beginning as a full log, this turned and sculpted vessel of twenty-one butterflies and considerable negative space has undergone a metamorphic transformation in and of itself.
