About The Work
These abstract wall pieces are etched with images of enlarged mono-prints, revealing energetic mark making, or the patterns of ink as it’s dragged across a glass surface by a roller. These mono-prints were inspired by aerial views of the rural landscape; exploring human and natural traces, patterns and boundaries.
The prints are captured in metal using acid etching and chemical patination, creating contrasting eroded and polished surfaces.
For MONOSCAPE, I’ve explored my work’s three dimensional potential. The rich metal surfaces interact, reflecting and changing one-another from different viewpoints and in different light.
